The most valuable are Vivid Pink and Vivid Pink-Red spinels, particularly from Mahenge, Tanzania, where their intense saturation and fluorescence make them highly desirable. Top-quality Mahenge spinels over 5 carats can command tens of thousands of dollars per carat, depending on clarity and intensity of color. Lighter pink spinels, while still valuable, are generally priced between $1,500 and $5,000 per carat, depending on size and quality. In contrast, darker or less saturated pink spinels tend to be more affordable, ranging from $500 to $1,500 per carat. As demand for fine pink gemstones grows, pink spinels are increasingly seen as a strong alternative to pink sapphires and rubies, driving further price appreciation.
